Merge Healthcare, a leading market provider of automated healthcare data and diagnostic workflow solutions, is expanding its product management department to help in the development, continual innovation and release of its core product software solutions. We are looking for a dynamic, professional, product manager who is passionate about medical solutions and the benefits that they bring to our customers and their patients.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Full responsibility and ownership (including the planning, designing and management) of assigned product(s) and service(s) from conceptual stages throughout the product lifecycle to meet sales, marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
- Knowledgeable and proficient with all features and functions of owned product(s)
- Owns and is responsible for the process of defining the product requirements and communicates product requirements to the software development team
- Owns and is responsible for design review meetings and helps to prioritize product features and enhancements
- Follows and maintains all documents and records of the Design Control Process for product releases
- Conducts and facilitates cross-functional team meetings for given product(s) and service(s)
- Reviews software during the development process and provides feedback to the development team
- Provides product expertise to other departments in support of product development, release and client implementations
- Participates in the development of the overall product strategy and roadmap within the product management team for given product(s) and service(s)
- Conducts and coordinates customer research to develop product requirements.
- Collects, documents, and processes customer input and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for a product
- Determines product designs and directions with engineering managers, usability specialists and others as appropriate
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates all product roll-out tasks for new products and product revisions with service, applications, manufacturing, sales, sales support, delivery and marketing
- Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market
- Plans and coordinates beta testing while directly managing the customer relationship for beta testing.
- Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, service, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities
- Collaborates with the sales and marketing to define product packaging, pricing, and positioning.
- Provides technical expertise to other departments in support of product development, release and client implementations
- Initiates new vendor relationships and works closely with purchasing to manage existing vendor relationships
- Provides leadership to resolve product, quality or availability problems
- Coordinates the lifecycle of a product across functional areas
- Develops and maintains a strong understanding of the target markets for the product(s) and service(s)
- Investigates the market and business applicability of emerging technologies in coordination with the product management roadmap
- Performs workflow analysis and collaborates with usability experts on user interface design projects
- Provides or coordinates product and process training to various teams throughout the company
- Collaborates with technical writers to provide end-user documentation
- Assists in the production of customer release notes
- Generates white papers and case studies through collaboration with customers and in-house resources
- Active participation with product demonstrations and presentations during trade shows, user group meetings and sales opportunities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One or more years of product management or product development experience in medical imaging or healthcare information technology industries.
Two or more years of direct experience with Picture Archive and Communications Systems, (PACS), or Radiology Information Systems, (RIS), preferred.
Bachelors degree required. (Medical Informatics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field)

FDA regulatory experience
ISO regulatory experience
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
This position may require travel up to 30%.
