Peer-reviewed research increasingly supports the clinical use of MRI studies of the prostate due to awareness that early detection will lead to long-term survival rates. MR imaging is emerging as an important tool for the noninvasive evaluation of prostate cancer demonstrating improved sensitivity for staging and determining extent of disease.
